Re: Benidorm

^^ I think part of the idea is that it's taking the mickey out of people who go all that way and then just sit with other British people and never leave the hotel. I was a late-comer to this, never watched it when it was first on but I enjoy it now. I can't say I've watched it in order, it's just do...

I remember an interview with Bob on Radio 1, New Years Eve 1979 and he was asked about this, said they'd probably start singing "she so .... nineteen eigh-ties ..." instead.

Re: Leasing a car

I'd seriously recommend you look at something other than new. You're going to lose a load of money buying a new car the moment you drive it out of the showroom, then you're going to add to that by putting a loan on it. Look at something around 2-3 years old, you'll still get a low mileage car but th...

Re: Best music film you have seen

I watched 'Hello Quo' the other night as it was on BBC4, that was a pretty good programme but either I'm having momentary blackouts or the editing of the conversations is a bit patchy. Covered basically from the very beginning, through various line-up changes right up to fairly recently. Again, not ...

Re: Favourite Comedy Lines of all time...

Mrs R: I paid for a room with a view. BF (looking out of the window): Here is the view, Madam, as far as I remember, yes, this it it. Mrs R: You call that a view? BF: Well may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? The hanging gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeeste s...

Re: Current TV programmes you like

Fresh Meat returns tonight on 4OD for its third series. Only on 4OD, not a proper TV channel? The first two were quite good but I can't be bothered watching it on my crappy mobile broadband thing. As for other stuff, in no particular order: Suits (back in January for series 3), Big Bang Theory (bac...

M: Who are you? WM: What? M: Who are you? WM: We are three wise men. M: Well what are you doing creeping around a cowshed at three o'clock in the morning? That doesn't sound very wise to me! WM: We were led by a star! M: Led by a bottle, more like. It's disgusting, coming in here... And a more recen...

Re: STRAIGHTEN OUT - 2013 TOUR

I hadn't realised they were coming again after last year when the band almost outnumbered the audience. I've just seen the first post in here saying they're at The Box twice, but then reading later on it seems they're cancelled even though the first post still lists the gigs. Still, at least I'm not...

Re: Best music film you have seen

I've taped the two ' story of the Eagles' programmes that were on a few weeks ago, but not got around to watching them yet. There was a pretty good one about Jeff Lynne as well.

Re: Best music film you have seen

Oh, and the two recent Iron Maiden tour documentaries - one about the band, the other about the road crew and how the gigs are put on, equipment moved and so on. I find that kind of thing quite fascinating. We've had a few 'double bill' evenings like this recently, with a documentary followed by a g...
