FM waveband - will there always be a place for it?
With an intended switch off (though god knows when) of the FM frequency, do you think it's the wisest of decisions given that Dab radio isn't the best when on the move? Personal Dab radios are great when sitting about, but the signal does tend to go when on the move - very annoying. FM on the other ...

Re: Last book read
I kind of grudge the time involved when sitting reading a book as I normally have other things to do. Not to say I dont enjoy books, just listen to them rather than read. Occasionally I'll download, but usually I'll nip along to the local library and choose a few audio books on either cassette/ cd f...

Re: Big Irish crackdown on net piracy
The keyword here is 'Ireland.'
Their crackdown on piracy probably means they'll target kids with Captain Pugwash DVD's and pensioners who are fond of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates.

Generally people who say "I'll do it as soon as...." then stop.
As soon as what? As soon as they have a crap, something to eat, feed the dog, can be bothered?

Love to walk along most of the North Ayrshire coast - apart from passing the slaughterhouse in Saltcoats! The noise, the screams. the smell - no wonder the cattle are upset - who in their right minds builds a caravan site next to an abattoir! Give a me warmish weather, a long walk, a magnum (ice lol...

Re: I'm In A Rock 'n' Roll Band
I've seen a couple of programmes in the series, but not all. No doubt many expected names will have been overlooked as seems to be the case judging by comments on this thread. Always thought Cozy Powell was a decent drummer and Cliff Burton was excellent on the bass - but I can't recall a mention fo...

Re: Ross County at Hampden!
The trouble with St Mirren is that they dont have decent opponents for a Derby match to bump up attendances.
If only the second best team in Renfrewshire would get their act together - but it's unlikely that Arthurlie will apply for league status.

Re: Ross County at Hampden!
I knew several supporters of various first division teams who were delighted the Bairns lost the cup final - and for good reason. And what reason was that??? The reason being (as if you didn't know) was that while other Scottish clubs such as St Mirren, Airdrie, Partick, Dunfermline etc. were spend...

The mascots of the London Olympics
Having already been called aliens and computer generated smurfs, do you think organisers have boobed with their choice of mascots for the London Olympic games? http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01640/mascot4602_1640285c.jpg It is hoped Wenlock, right, and the Paralympic mascot Ma...

Re: Ross County at Hampden!
SFA conspiracy, 1st Division teams never win The Scottish Cup, 1997!!!! A couple have come close since then - Gretna losing a penalty shoot out to Hearts and Queen of the South being edged out by Rangers. On the subject of 1997 and Falkirk, I knew several supporters of various first division teams ...

Celebrities who've fallen from grace
Got to be a few celebrities over the years who had it all but threw it all away. Michael Barrymore - found himself in a hotspot and his career has all but ended. OJ Simpson - glittering pro football career, turned actor - and now serving a lengthy jail sentence. Mike Tyson - World Champion at 22, vi...

Re: UK Election 2010
I was very bemused today when my son returned from the polling station and announced that they were handing out one 'haribo' sweet to each first time voter  They've really spared no expense in this election campaign :!: Maybe the freebies should reflect the local area and customs. For example,...
