Re: THE 'ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STRANGLERS' THREA
Right, let me make this crystal clear. This thread, along with its opening post, was just a harmless tongue in cheek piss-take of all the 'general' threads on here - INCLUDING MINE (Ingredients, Rotherham Utd, etc). Is that really so difficult to understand??? For fuck's sake, try getting a sense o...

Re: New Cloughie movie
I was reminded that Clough was a bully and an ill mannered tosser. That's not up for discussion. Great manager though which cannot be denied, but then so were Busby, Shankly and Paisley - all considered gentlemen of the game. No doubt Clough got the best out of the players, but Burns, Lloyd, Mackay,...

Hector Nicol....Bing Hitler :smt005 Getting mixed up there Apollo - though Hector Nicol was funny in his own right. The Bing Hitler character was created by Craig Ferguson - now a chat show host in the U.S and seemingly touted to take over from David Letterman. On the subject of Scottish comedies -...

Ok Stevie - I'll bite Most football forums have boards where members can discuss general topics - similar to General other stuff on here. Generally members contribute or they don't. As a newcomer, I attempt to contribute in a positive way as do others. There will always be a wide variety of topics o...

Scottish comedies - how are they perceived down South?
Mention of Chewing the Fat in a recent post had me wondering what English viewers made of Scottish comedy shows such as CTF, Still Game and Rab C Nesbitt etc. Were they amusing? Required Subtitles?
On the whole, I'd say Scots enjoyed these shows - but I wonder how they were perceived down South?

Peter Tobin - the never ending story
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/10621063.stm Not sure if it coincided with recent claims that Tobin could be the killer nicknamed "Bible John" - but there is the possibility that this lowlife has murdered a few others in his time. I suppose there is a tendency to link him with every un...

Council charges to remove bulk rubbish.
Never realised our local council now charge £12 to remove bulk rubbish - though the cost allows you to dump five items. Suppose that's cheap compared to some councils who charge £25. According to a local spokesman, the move is to encourage householders to use the local dump. That's fine for smaller ...
