Do the band even know when stuff is being used? I've read something recently (but can't remember where, of course) that discussed when a band might be consulted on the use of their music in advance, and other circumstances where it would just be used and the appropriate payments made.

Cheap compared to a lot of artists, though. A mate of mine goes to a lot more gigs than I do, came to the Warrington gig on the last tour and commented on how many unknown acts that appear in local places are charging more than he paid for his Stranglers ticket.
