When I discovered The Stranglers in 1977 it was always the Bass that stood out even though I was learning guitar at the time I just always focused on THAT bass and never Hugh's guitar work. Anyone who plays Bass will know that JJ isn't the best bass player in the world but that doesn't matter to me ...
