Re: Best song on Ten
Someone Like You is a good song, but Never to Look Back is head and shoulders above anything else on the album. It's interesting, given that he wasn't contributing much, that JJ arguably wrote the 2 best songs of that period, in Never to Look Back & Instead of This. I'd argue that during the 10...

Re: BEST THING ABOUT PAUL'S DEPARTURE
Suite XVI definitely wasn't as successful as Norfolk Coast in the commercial sense, but generally the fans and even the critics liked it, whereas almost everything from "Retro Rockets" onwards has had a cooler reception.

Re: Music Industry Nicknames
Yeah, Loose Windscreen is a gem  Wasn't it Keith Richards that came up with the name Brenda in the early '80s when Mick was starting to pay more attention to a solo career? I know it was used by the band to slag Mick off behind his back. To digress, my favourite Stones story is the one when - w...

Re: Best song on Written In Red
Y'know, this album really isn't as bad as its reputation, and at least was an attempt by the band to sound current. It does fall off after "Joy de Viva" though, in my opinion.

Re: Andy Gill RIP
Sad news, the reason know announcement on Stranglers site is JJ and Dave hated the album and its production,a torrid time for the band, even Dave nearly quit around that time, patchy album with some good songs but also the worst Stranglers song ever IMHO the dire "Miss you",my god they had g...

Re: Andy Gill RIP
He seems to have had quite the career, not only did he work on one of the least favoured Stranglers albums, but he also worked on the Red Hot Chili Peppers debut album(!) and then much later on with The Futureheads.
I agree with John Robb when he refers to Gang of Four as overrated, though.
