Re: The new Doctor Who

Really nice nod to Nicholas Courtney in tonights episode though. Very poignant but fitting that his passing was acknowledged within the show.

Re: RIP LIS SLADEN

Genuinely taken aback by this news, had no idea she was ill! She seemed like a very genuine, down to earth person in the interviews and the DVD commentaries she did, with a great affection for Doctor Who.

RIP Sarah Jane.

Radio 2 - The Great British Songbook

Just been looking through the songs they have listed as being included in this, and although for the most part i wouldnt disagree with a lot of it, so far predictably enough theres an absence of any Stranglers. One entry that does have me scratching my head a bit was "Lonely This Christmas"...

Re: STRAIGHTEN OUT - 2010 TOUR

I`ll be on for Bathgate, and hopefully one or both of the Glasgow dates. Bathgate is a bit of an interesting choice of place to play, as i dont think many bands pass through there and from the nights out i`ve had in the past things can get a bit lively with the locals! Used to be a good rock club th...

The Haunting, the 1963 orginal version was one which scared me when i was younger. Saw it as paert of one of the Horror Double Bills in BBC2 which seemed to be on every saturday, and the scene where Eleanor are Theo are trapped in their room while something pounds on the walls and door was one which...

Might give that one a go. Theres a good Korean one on Film4 tonight too, called Oldboy. Brutal and very twisted, but a great film.

Re: Last book read

Just finished Charlie Brookers Dawn Of Teh Dumb which is a good book to dip in and out of as its a collection of his newspaper columns from around 2004 onwards. Extremely funny in places, especially when having a go at past Big Brother contestants (although im struuggling to remember the majority of...

Bloody kids....

*Rant mode on* `Scuse me while i vent, but WTF is it with certain kids these days? Having intermittant probelms with a bunch of 5 to 15 years ods who reckon its a great wheeze to lob stuff at my front door, to the point where they crack the glass in it. At the risk of sounded like a grouchy old git,...
