Re: Should The Stranglers have signed to Virgin in 1982?

Due to the bad luck the band had with finances over a period since 1979. dud cheques, gigs and tours being cancelled, equipment stolen, lack of commercial success etc.. I think they had to take the money at that stage and CBS/Epic were offering more than Virgin. I also think CBS being an American co...

Re: The next leader of The Labour Party should be...

I am afraid with all respect it makes no difference who or what leader they elect.I fear labour are doomed at least for the next 10 years and maybe forever. The reason's the demographic has changed in the country Ie:former working class Labour voters have become tory voters in a large enough volume ...

Re: technical peeps please help : VHS on DVD

Would usually be a finalise issue or the laptop being set up with the wrong regional code. I've even heard that DVD laser cleaner can solve these problems as the lasers in the DVD player are not able to scan the disc properly and therefore aren't able to play them (this would be fairly rare though).

Re: The Damned

One of the best gigs I ever attended was The Damned at the old Penthouse ballroom above the Glasgow Apollo in December 1983. Fantastic night!! Haven't seen them live since 1994 but always a great live band. Might go to their gig in Edinburgh in September 8)

Re: Ponomusic

It sounds like they are saying that they are going to reproduce the sound of an original album on vinyl through a very high spec digital device (which will be like your virtual high spec turntable). Since CD's were released the music buying public have complained that the CD wasn't replicating the o...

Re: Vladimir & The Pearl

I never got a copy of the "Here and There" compilation, does anyone know if the version on there is a better quality one than the one that used to be on the Rat's Lair and now youtube? Cheeeers. Sounds better than the youtube one. Has a fair bit of hiss on the 'Here and There' one. Wonder...

Re: scotland .anyone care?

Depressing to read this morning that the under 55 age group vote voted for independence and it was the over 55 age group that secured the 'No' vote. Depressing that people who are not the future have decided the future of people who didn't want the union. Even more depressing to read that just over ...
