Re: Favourite Bass Guitar

You can't go too far wrong with a Fender Jazz - a really versatile bass guitar!

Re: Most Overated band ever.

It's quite trendy not to like the likes of U2, Coldplay, The Beatles, Roling Stones et al these days. Quite a lot of people slag 'em off because there all so big in the public eye and not really anything special and every time there's a slight bit of news on them the media jump all over it and brown...

Re: Luis Suarez

The FA have just announced that Suarez will serve a 10 match ban. Seems a bit harsh to me but he has history. It'll certainly teach him to finish his pre match meal . What he deserves, will teach him not to do it again. You say that Alex, but look at his past offences and the bans he served - he ob...

Have to say Ivanovic has dealt with this remarkably well, would have been justified knocking his teeth down his throat :smt013

Re: Luis Suarez

He's got a history for this sort of thing and other unpleasant stuff hasn't he? As talented as he is, this sort of thing really lets him down. What a shitty piece of pond life...

Re: Redundancy.

Unlucky Burnie. I went through redundancy when working for the council, there's nothing nice about it. All the best. As Alan Partridge said "I'm sure you'll bounce back".

Re: Public Service Broadcasting 10th March 2013 - Wakefield

I went last night. At £6, pound for pound one of the best gigs I've been too, great live act and really interesting music. Glad I went at that price because if there's any justice these guys will do well and be selling out bigger venues at bigger prices. Watch this space 8)

The Magic Band (sans Beefheart of course), Manchestester

Time for something a bit different Although I saw The Stranglers in Leeds on Saturday and will be doing the same in Manchester shortly, I don't need to offer another review on what was another fine performance by the band. The week leading up to my trip over the penines from Manchester to see The St...

They always get better a few dates into the tour. Nowadays the Scottish dates are just a warm up/rehearsal for the legitimate part of the tour :smt110

Re: XTC... Waxworks/Beeswax... Result!

It's too easy to compare them to the Stranglers, but there's a reason for that. They started off full of raw energy which featured heavy and dirty bass with some Doors-esque keyboard tones, then they moved to a more melodic and polished sound as the 70's ended and the 80's began. Obviously, this had...
