Re: The Who possibly greatest live band ever at their peak?

On reflection I don't think the Who were the greatest live band ever, it's opinion, I still think the Stranglers were the best live band in their peak, but that's my opinion, so many great live bands the damned, doors, beatles, ZZ Top, Buzzcocks, new model army, killing Joke, Ruts, the Addicts, hugh...

Re: Ginger Baker RIP-possibly the greatest drummer ever?

Thing is they don’t make drummers like the guys we have mentioned anymore. Not just drummers though there seems to be a lack of ‘characters’ in many bands. I guess they’ve cleaned up their act and are so frightened of being even slightly naughty cos of fear of being sued by some boring snowflake. T...

Re: Things you fecken hate..........

BMW drivers who accelerate when I'm over taking them on the motorbike, look losers, you can't go quicker than me, your egos must be small? Lt Kudu. All BMW drivers should be killed ASAP. Not only do they think they own the road with their OTT aggressive and bullying driving nonsense but now they th...

Re: Ginger Baker RIP-possibly the greatest drummer ever?

No need for unpleasantness on this thread, on second thoughts,Ginger Baker wasn't the best drummer ever, he was technically brilliant but for me his drum solos went on to long, it was a silly thread thinking about it, you can't say anyone is greatest drummer as so many great ones, and so many differ...

Re: Ginger Baker RIP-possibly the greatest drummer ever?

Interesting, really so many great drummers, but the one drummer who more or less invented modern drumming a a we know it was Gene Krupa, he also invented alot of the cymbals that drummers use today, a pioneer, oh and he served time in Jail for smoking dope, a bit of a bad boy to, but he was just be...

Re: The Who possibly greatest live band ever at their peak?

OK Stranglers my fave band obviously and at their peak the best live band ever IMHO, but a close second must be the Who? Just watched, won't get fooled again in 1978 in Shepperton, sadly this was Keith Moons last gig before he died, so sad, am amazing drummer, if you think he wasnt, just try playin...

Re: 2 versions of UB40 oh dear how sad.

they all hate the Stranglers. Lt Kudu on another date tomorrow. Lt Kudu, everyone hates The Stranglers apart from some us loyal fans who were there from the beginning and that’s one of many reasons we love em so much. If The Stranglers were a Football team they would be Millwall or (Leeds Utd, Ouch...

Re: 2 versions of UB40 oh dear how sad.

It would be boring if we all liked the same music, UB40 were quite good at start, but as others have said, it was covers that made them huge, it seems most people like MOR, you could say that of the Stranglers with GB but I think that song was radical, using Harpsichord and odd time signature, I rea...
