Re: Tour Blog
A great read, really enjoyed that. It’s great doing something like that isn’t it? something that you really enjoy. Best job in the world, playing in The Stranglers and fair play to the fella. No doubt some Bell-Pipe will slag it to fuck. Yeah but it’s not The Stranglers is it? blah blah blah, it’s ...

Re: Tour Blog
This is a great read. This part says it all, and much respect to Baz for writing it. "We get to The Raven, and JJ takes to the mic… All tour long at this point, he’s been dedicating this song to Dave and Jet…a lovely thing to do…and it’s been taking the roof off. Tonight, it seems to have a spe...

Sounds like Ally had a very similar day to me, but he looks slightly more sobertheraven1979 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2024, 21:22 https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/whats-on/ ... s-28801315

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
I went to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and I think Edinburgh Usher Hall edged it as it was the second night and the band seemed more relaxed, and also, as a venue it was awesome. There are quite clearly various opinions on this forum about the band, but if you want to see a band playing Stranglers so...

Re: Strangler in the light
I saw Thin Lizzy, without Phil Lynott, but with all the other original members (Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson & Brian Downey) I couldn't think of a better way to enjoy Thin Lizzy music live, without Phil Lynott. In the same way, if you want to hear Stranglers music live, you will see The Strangl...

Re: Jj in Sunday telegragh
"And my little grandkids, aged two and three, who are the real stars now. Don’t tell anyone, but I’m a big softy really.” Personally I found that the band members have always had very private personal lives, which is absolutely right, so hearing that JJ is a grandad came as a surprise, but, yep...

Re: Strangler in the light
With regards to the "wilderness years" I thought it was sad to hear that Dave turned to JJ around the time of WiR and said "I'm don't feel like being a Strangler at the moment" (quote isn't correct as I don't have the book to hand but it was similar to that). Jim When Hugh left,...
