Re: No more amps?
There were some flight cases with a stack of maybe five or six "things" in them on JJs side of the stage at Hanley, presumably those are what you're talking about here Damian? Funnily enough I was listening to someone in the audience at that gig who was saying that one a previous Strangle...

Re: No more amps?
Most of the info I got off FB, Andi Lycett who has worked as the Guitar Tech over the last few years (but not this tour) posted some info on this

Re: No more amps?
JJ's Amp is DI into the FOH and Monitor Desk Baz uses's Kempers Amsps which is a sampler Amp.which also is DI. The Amps are Stage Right where the Guitar Tech is based during the show. As all the Band have In Ear Monitoring they do not need to hear the Amps on stage. JJ has a Tuner in front of the Dr...

Re: Dijon
The Stranglers in 2021: one original member, a former Toy Doll, a former Mungo Jerry, a session musician, backing tracks and dad dancing. I think I'll throw All Live and All of the Night on today and remind myself what the actual Stranglers sounded like. Doesn't the 'All Live' Extra Track CD versio...

Re: New keyboard player
Dave had been using Roland Fantom XR Rackmounts. These are used to sample the 'old' sounds. The 3c Keyboards in front 'Drive' this. On his RH side recently he has gone back to a novation. Before he was using a small keyboard to drive a rackmount Novation.

Re: New keyboard player
I think the reason they haven't announced who it is yet is they probably need to rehearse etc to see how he/she fits in both artistically and technically. Remember the Stranglers Live show is not just a case of turn up and play. There is all sorts of things to take in to account such as playing to p...

Re: F***ing Joggers
Dearest Elvis, Than you for our extensive calls today about the bloody Joggers. My current view is that they should follow the traffic. Run on the pavements to the left, turn around and then run on the pavements to the right. I find them a complete and utter pest, no matter how much exercise they w...

Re: Dave's gear through time
Dave uses novation and Roland Phantom XR rackmounts it is basically a rackmount version of the phantom X8 OMD use Phantom X8's but they bought all the old synths that they took the samples from and they did this note by note, I think the prob with Dave's sound is the base sample and the fact that it...

Re: Guitar Roadies & Tuning issues
Diff reasons, guitar tech needs to know all works, the monitor tech needs to know his monitoring ok, also FOH sound man needs to know all his stuff works, also as venue fills up temp rises which affects tuning so they re check guitars in tune. Spot on. But why tune up every 10 mins - why not do it ...

Also roadies have to tune more than one guitar, Re the Stranglers Andy has to tune up to 6 guitars each gig.
